Kathmandu, February 25 – On the occasion of Mahashivaratri and the 262nd Anniversary of the Nepal Army, six former Chiefs of Army Staff (COAS) of the Indian Army arrived in Nepal on February 25 , 2025 , to participate in a special event organized by the Nepal Army.

 

The delegation of former Chiefs of Army Staff, which includes Honorary Maharathi General Joginder Jaswant Singh (Retd.), General Deepak Kapoor (Retd.), General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd.), General Dalbir Singh Suhag (Retd.), General (Dr.) Manoj Mukund Naravane (Retd.), and General Manoj Pandey (Retd.), is scheduled to visit various historical, religious, and tourist sites in Nepal.

 

Purpose and Significance of the Visit:


The primary goal of this visit is to strengthen military ties between Nepal and India and explore opportunities for further cooperation and coordination. The arrival of the former Chiefs of Army Staff will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences and build a deeper understanding of military cooperation between the two nations.

 

Touring Historical and Cultural Sites:


During their stay in Nepal, the delegation will visit major cultural and religious landmarks in Kathmandu, including Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Bhaktapur. This visit is expected to further strengthen the cultural and historical ties between Nepal and India.

Additionally, the delegation plans to participate in interaction sessions with the Nepal Army, aimed at fostering deeper collaboration and understanding.
